Which Web Hosting?

Now that you have decided to get some web hosting, your next decision is what type of hosting do you need. There are many different plans to choose from. If you need help check out yourdomainuk`s comprehensive comparison guide

There are free web hosting services, these are free services but mostly they are advertisement supported hosting companies. The free hosting is very limited as to what you can have. Most companies that offer free hosting will only really provide for a webpage. You get a lot more when you pay for services. So first decide what your needs are and then see what plan works best for you.

Shared web hosting services are provided when you have a website that is on the same server as other sites. The amount of people sharing a server can range from hundreds to thousands of people. Most people who share servers have common server resources such as a CPU or RAM. Then there is the Reseller web hosting, this allows the clients to be web hosts themselves. The people who resell could host for separate domains and with any combination of these listed types of hosting. All this is dependent on who they are a reseller for.

The Virtual Dedicated Server is putting a server into virtual servers. Each user of the server feel like they have their own dedicated server but they are sharing them with many other people. Then you have the Dedicated hosting server. This is when you actually get your own server. The user’s gets full control over the server the only things is you still rent it and not own it but you are the only user on it.

Colocation web hosting this is very similar to having a dedicated hosting service but the user owns the server and the hosting company kind of rents out space to keep the server on their site. They will take care of it and do the maintenance but you own the server. This plan is considered the most powerful and yet very expensive web hosting service. Some companies do not perform the maintenance they simply provide electric, Internet access and a storage facility.

Last but not least is the Clustered Hosting Plan. This is when you have multiple servers hosting the same content for better usage. Simply speaking, you have several different servers for the same Web Site content.
